About the role
We are seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join Dr. Albert Cardona's team at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology. This position will focus on the deployment, scaling, and upkeep of machine learning systems designed for handling large-scale connectomics data. The role involves transforming machine learning models for volume electron microscopy into reliable and reproducible production pipelines.

What you'll do
Oversee the implementation and maintenance of machine learning systems for extensive connectomics datasets.
Convert machine learning models into efficient production workflows that are observable and reproducible.
Requirements
A minimum of 2 years of experience in machine learning or a related field.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and experience with machine learning frameworks.
A degree in computer science, bioinformatics, or a related discipline.
Familiarity with volume electron microscopy and connectomics data analysis.
Nice to have
Experience with cloud computing platforms for data processing.
Knowledge of software development best practices.
Skills & tools
Solid programming skills in Python.
Experience with machine learning libraries and frameworks.
Familiarity with data management and processing tools for large datasets.
This is a fixed-term position for 2 years, funded by an external grant. Applications are encouraged from candidates who require visa sponsorship.
