About the Role:
We're seeking experienced Locomotive Drivers to operate a new short-haul port shuttle service between ITC Somerton Intermodal Terminal and the Port of Melbourne. This is a great opportunity to join a fixed roster on a high-frequency, short-distance freight run, working with **** and **** class locomotives.
What's On Offer:
$90 per hour
(casual rate)
Fixed roster –
6 days per week
Shifts of
8–12 hours per day
Consistent, short-turnaround port shuttle work (not long-haul)
Immediate start – we're looking to be operational within days
The Roster:
Roster cycle
6-day operating week
Regular, predictable shuttle runs between Somerton and the Port of Melbourne
About You:
Valid
Locomotive Driver competency




(VIC network experience preferred)
Current Category 1 Rail Medical
Experience or familiarity with
**** and/or **** class locomotives
highly regarded
Strong understanding of
Melbourne metropolitan rail network
and port precinct operations
Sound knowledge of
safe working procedures
, signalling, and shunting
Ability to work a rotating roster including early starts, late finishes, and diverse shift lengths
Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work autonomously
