We're a leading Tier 1 plumbing contractor delivering major civil and infrastructure projects looking for an experienced Plumbing Foreman to lead our in-ground civil works crew. This role is focused on deep excavation sewer installation, trunk mains, and complex underground drainage systems on large-scale commercial and civil projects.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate a crew of plumbers and labourers on inground civil works, including deep excavation sewer installations
Read and interpret civil engineering drawings, hydraulic plans, and specifications
Oversee excavation, shoring, pipe laying, jointing, and backfill for sewer, stormwater, and trade waste systems
Ensure all work complies with relevant plumbing codes (AS/NZS ****), WHS regulations, and project specifications
Manage confined space and trench safety protocols, including shoring, benching, and atmospheric testing
Liaise with site managers, civil foremen, surveyors, and other trades to keep works on program
Conduct daily toolbox talks, JSAs/SWMS, and maintain accurate site documentation
Monitor material deliveries, plant utilisation, and crew productivity




Identify and resolve on-site technical issues, including variations to design
Mentor and upskill apprentices and junior plumbers
Requirements
Proven experience as a Foreman/Leading Hand on inground civil plumbing works
Strong background in deep excavation, trench shoring, and sewer/drainage installation
Working at Heights, Confined Space, and White Card certifications (essential)
Sound knowledge of AS/NZS **** and civil construction standards
Experience reading civil/hydraulic drawings and setting out levels (dumpy level/laser level)
Robust leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Current driver's licence; medium rigid or higher desirable
Excavator/plant tickets highly regarded (not essential)
