Trades Assistants - Metal Finisher (Multiple Roles)
We're recruiting for multiple
Trades Assistants
for our client, a global leader in defence engineering and manufacturing. These positions play a key role in the process of precision engineering and manufacturing various parts working around highly skilled tradespeople that are heavily reliant on vertical, horizontal, routing, and multi-axis CNC machining. These are
full-time, permanent
positions based in Melbourne's southeast with
multiple day-shift
(6AM start) and
afternoon-shift
(2PM start) opportunities available.
Roles and Responsibilities
Perform hand finishing of machined parts, checking for imperfections and compliance
Perform quality inspections at the final production stage to ensure specifications are met
Loading/unloading CNC machines and trucks
Contribute to general workshop operations as needed (maintenance, swarf management, parts management etc.)
Skills and Requirements
Prior role as a Trades Assistant, Metal Finisher, Workshop Labourer, or General Hand and/or experience in Metal Finishing, Fitting, Welding, Machining, Maintenance, etc.
Physically fit and capable of safely handling manual labour duties
Forklift licence would be highly beneficial
NOTE:
To be eligible for this position you must be an Australian Citizen and be eligible to obtain and maintain an AGSVA clearance – Baseline.
