Station Hand - Cattle, Sheep & Fodder Cropping - Willaura, Victoria
Our client operates a progressive, family-owned mixed farming business covering approximately 1,800 ha near Willaura in Western Victoria.
The property features a strong commercial foundation, including 400 Angus breeder cows, an actively growing herd, and a flock of 2,500 sheep comprising Merinos, Dorsets, and Aussie Whites.
The enterprise also incorporates a seasonal cropping program of approximately 200 ha, alongside an additional 200 ha dedicated to hay production.
Our client focuses on high-quality livestock care, cropping preparation (sowing and spraying), and day-to-day farm management using a up-to-date, well-maintained machinery fleet.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and versatile Station Hand to assist the owners with the day-to-day operations of their mixed farming enterprise.
This diverse role requires someone who can seamlessly transition between livestock husbandry and cropping operations.
Your responsibilities will include assisting with livestock movements, animal health management, general property maintenance such as fencing, and operating modern machinery for sowing, raking, baling, and spraying.
While you will be working closely with a supportive owner, you must have the confidence and capability to work independently and manage daily tasks efficiently.
The Offer
A competitive salary is on offer, tailored to the successful applicant's experience.

The package includes a comfortable home setup featuring a 2-bedroom cottage with an additional 2-bedroom bungalow out the back, fully equipped with a wood heater and a split system for year-round comfort, as well as a work vehicle provided for work purposes.
Homegrown meat will also be included when available.
Located just 10 minutes from Willaura and a short drive to regional hubs like Hamilton, Ararat and Dunkeld, you will be nestled at the foothills of the Grampians National Park, an iconic region famous for world-class hiking, camping, fishing, and outdoor exploration.
Excellent educational options are nearby, with the convenience of a school bus stop directly at the property's front gate.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant will be a motivated, practical individual who takes pride in their work and thrives in a varied agricultural environment.
Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar mixed farming or broadacre role.
Competent machinery operation skills, specifically with practical experience in sowing, raking, baling, or spraying.
Sound livestock husbandry and handling skills across both cattle and sheep.
An honest, reliable personality paired with a strong, proactive work ethic.
Proven ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain a safe working environment.
A working dog.
A current truck license and a Chemical Users Certificate are highly regarded but not essential.
