Yumaro is a multi-award-winning not-for-profit organisation dedicated to empowering people with disability to live independent, fulfilling lives. We provide a diverse range of innovative disability services to over 250 participants across the Eurobodalla and southern Shoalhaven shires. About the role:
Yumaro is currently seeking a passionate and hands-on
Café Supervisor
to lead our Shelley Road Kitchen, a small but vibrant social enterprise providing real-world employment opportunities for supported employees living with disabilities.
Reporting to the Senior Supervisor, you'll manage daily kitchen operations, support and coach NDIS participants and supported employees, and help deliver Yumaro's popular catering and coffee services. This is a unique opportunity to combine your hospitality skills with your passion for community support.
This is a part-time position offering a minimum of 18 hours per week, working Monday, Wednesday and Thursday (8:30am–3:00pm). For the right candidate, there is the opportunity to increase to up to 30 hours per week across up to five days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise day-to-day operations of the Shelley Road Kitchen, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality food production
Lead,
train and support NDIS participants and supported employees in cooking, hospitality, and café operations
Oversee Yumaro's internal coffee service and food delivery programs including Yummy Café and Yumaro Catering
Ensure compliance with all WHS, kitchen safety, and food hygiene standards
Support participants with skills development and achieving their personal and employment goals
Collaborate across Yumaro's programs including Social Enterprise, Home and Community Services (HCS), and Employment Pathways & Learning (EPL)
What we seek:
Certificate III or IV in Hospitality or equivalent qualification or equivalent skills and experience
Physically fit and capable of working in a hands-on kitchen environment
Excellent communication skills and a calm, empathetic approach
Experience working with people with disabilities, including those with learning or behavioural challenges
Flexible and team-focused, with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, purpose-led setting
Desirable but not essential:
Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability or similar (or currently studying)
Experience in hospitality, commercial cookery, or barista work
Supervisory experience in a food or service setting
LR or MR Driver's Licence
