The Role
We are seeking a recent Graduate Electrical Engineer to join our Rail & Metro team in Brisbane. As a Graduate at SMEC, you'll be part of a high‐impact talent group, contributing to the delivery of major rail and metro infrastructure projects alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists. Our two‐year Graduate Development Program (GDP) is designed to accelerate your growth—combining hands‐on project experience with structured learning, mentoring, and exposure across teams and disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
You'll support the delivery of real infrastructure projects from day one—contributing to design, analysis and documentation while learning from experienced engineers and gaining exposure to site and project delivery.
Contribute to the delivery of real projects by supporting design development, including drawings, models and technical documentation
Assist with engineering calculations and analysis across areas such as roads, drainage or structures under guidance from senior engineers
Participate in site visits and inspections to develop an understanding of how designs are implemented on live projects
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate design inputs and support project delivery milestones
Learn and apply industry standards, tools and best practice through structured development and on‐the‐job experience
About You
Motivated Electrical Engineering graduate who enjoys problem‐solving, working in teams, and contributing to real‐world projects.
You Will Bring
A degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
Robust communication and teamwork skills
Exposure to design tools such as AutoCAD
