AutoCAD 2D Draughtsperson – Temp to Permanent
Construct Personnel is seeking an experiencedAutoCAD 2D Draughtspersonto join our client,Abrasive Blasting Service and Supplies (ABSS).
This is a full-time, temp-to-permanent opportunity for a practical and detail-focused drafter who enjoys working closely with engineers, production teams and workshop personnel to produce drawings that become real, Australian-made equipment.

ABSS is a proudly Australian-owned manufacturer and specialist engineering supplier to the abrasive blasting and shot-peening industries.
The company designs, manufactures and supplies shot-peening equipment, shot-blast machines, turbine-wheel blasting systems, abrasive blasting cabinets, blast pots, dust collectors, recovery systems and associated equipment.

The Role
You will produce accurate 2D drawings and manufacturing documentation for abrasive blasting and industrial surface-preparation equipment.
Your work will support engineering, manufacturing, installation, sales and project delivery.
The role includes producing new drawings, updating existing designs and helping ABSS improve and standardise its drawing library and drafting processes.
Key Responsibilities
Produce detailed 2D manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD.
Prepare assembly drawings for blast rooms, blast cabinets, dust collectors, recovery systems and associated equipment.
Create fabrication drawings for sheet metal, structural steel, ducting and mechanical assemblies.
Produce customer General Arrangement drawings.
Develop installation layouts and site drawings.
Prepare pneumatic schematics and straightforward mechanical layouts.
Update existing drawings and maintain accurate revision control.




Generate Bills of Materials, cutting lists and manufacturing documentation.
Ensure drawings meet relevant Australian Standards where applicable.
Work with workshop personnel to resolve manufacturing and fabrication issues.
Assist the sales team with concept drawings and quotation layouts.
Help standardise drawing templates, component libraries and drafting processes.
About You
To be successful, you will ideally have:
Strong practical experience using AutoCAD for 2D drafting.
Experience preparing manufacturing or fabrication drawings.
An understanding of sheet metal, structural steel, ducting or mechanical assemblies.
The ability to interpret engineering concepts and turn them into accurate workshop drawings.
Strong attention to detail and sound document-control practices.
The confidence to communicate with engineers, project managers, sales staff and workshop personnel.
The ability to manage priorities and work independently.
Australian working rights.
Experience with abrasive blasting equipment, pneumatic systems or industrial machinery would be advantageous but is not essential.
