Technical Sales & Customer Experience Specialist – 4WD E-commerce
One minute you could be talking through a bespoke bracket with our engineer and a rally team.
The next, you might be guiding someone through a wiring or setup detail remotely so they can keep their trip moving.
ALTIQ and Ultra Winch products are used on vehicles taking on serious terrain across the world.
The products are proven; the opportunity is to make the experience around them just as good.
That means helping customers choose the right combination, understand how it all works and achieve a clean, successful setup from the start.
This role blends technical knowledge, sales, education and practical problem-solving.
You will turn complicated product choices into clear decisions, guide customers through vehicle-specific setups and help resolve installation questions without unnecessary back-and-forth.
There is no cold calling.
Every enquiry is inbound and already warm.
Your job is to give people the confidence, knowledge and correct equipment to get their setup right and get on with using it.
The role
The job is simple: help customers get to the right outcome.
Sometimes that means guiding a recent customer towards the correct product and setup.
Other times it means helping an existing customer with installation, fitment or technical questions.
What you will do
Guide customers through lighting, wiring, switching, winch and recovery setups.
Recommend complete systems based on the vehicle and intended use.
Confirm compatibility, fitment and installation requirements.
Build Shopify orders, draft orders and quotes.
Help existing customers with setup and technical questions.
Work from photos, videos and test results when diagnosing an issue remotely.
Assist walk-in customers through a boutique showroom experience.
Demonstrate products and compare options clearly.
Handle trade, wholesale and distributor enquiries.
Process wholesale orders and support existing commercial accounts.
Work with engineering when a customer requires a custom or unusual solution.
Feed recurring questions and customer feedback into our website, instructions and product development.
There is no cold calling.
Customers already have an interest, a vehicle, a project or a problem to solve.
Who will suit the role
Enjoys solving practical problems.
Can understand technical products and explain them simply.
Communicates naturally by phone and in writing.
Can sell through knowledge rather than pressure.
Takes ownership of a customer until the outcome is complete.
Knows when to investigate rather than guess.
Is comfortable speaking with everyone from first-time 4WD owners to installers, dealers and competition teams.
Is reliable and follows through on commitments.
Automotive knowledge is useful, but technical curiosity and the ability to learn matter more.
Experience with Shopify, Gorgias, automotive parts, technical retail, wholesale or ecommerce will be highly regarded.
The team
ALTIQ and Ultra Winch operate from the same Carrum Downs facility.
You will work directly with engineering, product development, wholesale, the warehouse and the company director.
There are no long reporting chains.
Useful customer feedback can become a revised product page, clearer instructions, a new accessory or input into the next product design.
Position details
Full-time, Monday to Friday.
On-site in Carrum Downs, Victoria.
$82,000–$92,000 + superannuation.
Salary based on experience and technical capability.
Product and systems training provided.
Performance bonus available after probation.
