Senior Paediatric Occupational Therapist – Hybrid Community Role | Brisbane
$125,000 – $140,000 + Super + CPD (negotiable based on experience)| 6 Weeks Annual Leave | Flexible Work - open to PPT or FT
Many experienced paediatric therapists want more autonomy, sustainable caseloads and time to deliver thoughtful therapy.
Play-Based Paediatrics offers an environment designed around those priorities.
Play-Based Paediatrics provides paediatric occupational therapy services across Brisbane for children funded through the NDIS.
Our therapists support children in the environments where they live, learn and play — homes, schools and community settings.
We intentionally maintain a small, allied health team so clinicians receive strong professional support and families receive consistent, high-quality care.
We are now looking for an experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join the team and contribute to the continued development of our service.

We focus on thoughtful, play-based therapy that supports children's participation in everyday life.
Therapists at Play-Based Paediatrics have the autonomy and time to plan meaningful interventions, collaborate with families and work closely with other allied health professionals.
We prioritise quality of care, sustainable workloads and solid professional collaboration.
The Role
You will deliver paediatric occupational therapy using a play-based, family-centred and goal-focused approach.
The role includes:
Mobile therapy across the Brisbane region




Sessions in homes, schools and community settings
Telehealth where appropriate
Work-from-home time for documentation and planning
Mentoring junior staff.
We maintain manageable caseloads so therapists can focus on quality therapy and meaningful outcomes for children and families.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver paediatric occupational therapy for children funded through the NDIS
Support families to achieve meaningful functional goals
Provide therapy across home, school and community environments
Collaborate with physiotherapists and other allied health professionals
Contribute ideas that strengthen therapy programs and services
Who This Role Suits
This role suits an experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist who:
enjoys working in natural environments such as homes, schools and community settings
values, and is comfortable working autonomously, while remaining part of a supportive, collaborative team
wants time to deliver thoughtful, play-based therapy
prefers sustainable caseloads rather than high-volume service models
enjoys collaborating with other allied health professionals and medical personnel / specialists.
Enjoys mentoring and supporting junior staff but we are remaining a very small team.

Professional Autonomy and Clinical Influence
As a senior clinician, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of our occupational therapy service and mentor junior staff.

Your clinical experience will help shape how the service continues to grow.
What We Are Looking For
Minimum 4 years' experience as an Occupational Therapist
Experience working with paediatric clients (NDIS experience preferred)
Experience working with paediatric clients (NDIS experience preferred)
Ability to work autonomously and mentor junior staff.
Strong family engagement and goal-setting skills
Collaborative approach to multidisciplinary work
Full AHPRA registration
Applicants with valid, unrestricted work rights in Australia
Driver's licence
What We Offer
$125,000 – $140,000 + super (negotiable depending on experience including consideration of Part-time)
6 weeks annual leave and 1 week study leave
CPD budget of $****/yr pro rata
Independent Mentorship: Fully funded within CPD allowance)external supervision to support your advanced clinical reasoning and professional well-being.
