What you'll do
Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements for multiple dealership locations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Develop and manage the annual budgeting process, working with dealership managers to set financial targets and monitor performance against those goals.
Conduct regular financial audits and internal controls assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to company policies.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management, helping to shape strategic initiatives and operational improvements across the dealerships.
Manage cash flow and working capital, ensuring that the dealerships have the necessary resources to operate effectively while maximizing profitability.
Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing any inquiries related to financial reporting.
Analyze sales trends and operational metrics to identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost reduction across the dealership group.
Collaborate with the HR department to manage payroll and employee benefits, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and maintaining accurate records.
Implement and maintain financial software systems to streamline reporting processes and enhance data accuracy.
Train and mentor accounting staff within the dealership group, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Prepare and present monthly financial reports to the executive team, highlighting key performance indicators and financial trends.
Ensure compliance with all local, provincial, and federal regulations affecting dealership operations and financial reporting.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably within the automotive industry or a dealership environment.
Robust knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards, with a proven track record in managing financial operations.
Proficiency in financial software and tools,
including ERP systems and advanced Excel capabilities.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and compliance in all financial matters.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have
Experience with dealership management systems (DMS) and automotive retail operations.
