TemporaryPart-Time Maternity Relief (until October ****)
SwanHill Rural City Council is seeking a motivated and creative CommunicationsOfficer to join our team on a temporary part time maternity relief basis.Thisrole is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of writing, digital content creation,community engagement, media relations and event promotion.
You'll work closelywith staff across the organisation, helping communicate Council's projects,services and achievements to the community.
No two days are everthe same.
One day may involve developing a media release, capturing a communityevent or creating engaging content for digital platforms.
The next could seeyou updating website content, producing the monthly community newsletter or supportingthe delivery of a community engagement initiative.
About the Role
AsCommunications Officer, you will:
Writeand distribute media releases, community updates and other communicationsmaterials
Developengaging content for Council's social media channels
Coordinateand produce Council's monthly community newsletter
Updateand maintain website content
PromoteCouncil events and coordinate media opportunities
Capturephotographs and create short videos for communications purposes
Preparespeeches, newsletters and other publications




Supportcommunity engagement activities and online consultation platforms
Providecommunications advice and support to staff across the organisation
Helpmaintain Council branding and publication standards
About you
Tobe successful in this role, you will have:
Qualificationsin Communications, Media, Marketing, Public Relations or a related discipline
Experiencein, or a strong understanding of, media and communications practices
Theability to adapt your writing style for a range of audiences and communicationchannels
Strongorganisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
Aproactive and collaborative approach, with the confidence to build positiverelationships across the organisation and community

What we offer

27.6hours per week, working Wednesday to Friday
$*****per hour
