Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Accountant to join our finance team. This hands-on role supports the day-to-day operation of the finance function through accurate financial reporting, reconciliations, statutory compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their accounting experience within a manufacturing environment while working closely with experienced finance professionals. The successful candidate will gain exposure across financial accounting, reporting, systems and finance operations while developing their career.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting
Prepare month-end journals, accruals and prepayments.
Complete balance sheet reconciliations.
Maintain the General Ledger.
Assist with monthly management reporting.
Assist with annual statutory financial statements.
Maintain fixed asset registers.
Complete intercompany reconciliations.
Finance Operations
Assist with BAS, payroll tax and FBT preparation.
Support inventory reconciliations and stocktake activities.
Assist with cash flow reporting.
Work closely with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll.
Maintain finance records and supporting documentation.
Audit & Compliance
Prepare audit workpapers and supporting schedules.
Assist with external audits.




Ensure financial records are accurate and complete.
Support compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Continuous Improvement
Develop an understanding of finance processes across the business.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reporting.
Assist with documenting finance procedures.
Support ERP system improvements.
Participate in finance improvement initiatives.
Business Support
Assist with financial analysis and reporting.
Respond to internal finance queries.
Support ad hoc finance projects.
Skills & Experience
Essential
Tertiary qualification in Accounting.
Previous experience in an accounting or finance role.
Sound understanding of accounting principles.
Experience preparing journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience using ERP systems.
Robust attention to detail and organisational skills.
Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude.
Desirable
Exposure to month-end reporting.
Experience in manufacturing, FMCG or distribution.
Exposure to inventory accounting.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or a similar ERP.
Working towards, or interested in commencing, CA or CPA studies.
Exposure to Power BI or reporting tools.
