ROC Consulting is recruiting on behalf of a renowned national crane contractor specialising in crane hire, transport, heavy lifting and complex relocation projects.
The business services a diverse range of industries, including construction, mining, renewables and industrial markets.
From daily crane hire for local construction projects through to fully engineered solutions for transporting heavy industrial and mining equipment, this company has the expertise and equipment to support virtually any lifting requirement.

Its Sunshine Coast branch boasts a particularly close-knit team whose members support and rely on one another to get the job done.
The Position
This is a diverse Field Service Technician / Mechanic position based from the Sunshine Coast branch, servicing customers throughout the surrounding regions.
The role will combine workshop-based maintenance with field service work at customer locations, including scheduled servicing, fault-finding, repairs and attending equipment breakdowns.
Due to the varied nature of the branch's operations, you will also assist across other areas when required.
This may include:
Supporting yard operations and equipment movements
Moving cranes and vehicles within the branch
Assisting with crane setup and delivery
Supervising activities within the yard
Completing basic office and administrative duties
Operating cranes where appropriately licensed and required
This is a genuinely diverse position suited to a team player who is comfortable wearing several hats and helping wherever needed.

The Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally be a trade-qualified mechanic with at least 2-4 years of experience maintaining mobile machinery or heavy vehicles.
Suitable trade backgrounds may include:
Heavy Vehicle or Diesel Mechanic
Mobile Plant Mechanic
Truck Mechanic
Agricultural Mechanic
Automotive Mechanic with relevant heavy-equipment experience
The ideal candidate will have previous experience servicing and repairing mobile cranes from manufacturers such as Liebherr, Tadano, Grove, SANY, XCMG, Terex, Franna or Zoomlion.
However, crane experience is not essential, as comprehensive training can be provided to the right mechanic.
Additional qualifications and experience that would be highly regarded include:
Crane, rigging or dogging licences
HC truck licence
Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities
Automotive air-conditioning licence
Experience repairing hydraulic and mechanical systems
Solid general mechanical and diagnostic skills
Above all, you will be safety-focused, dependable and willing to support the broader branch team.
