Early Career Maintenance Fitter | Trade Qualified | FMCG | Food | Pharma | C10
Seeking Early Career recently Trade Qualified Maintenance Fitter with FMCG Manufacturing experience from food, beverage, dairy, pharmaceutical, any manufacturing industry or similar.
This full time role is a 6:30am start and the company is located near Clayton.
Hourly rate is a C10 classification and ASAP start available.

Role overview:
The purpose of the Maintenance Fitter is to repair, maintain and improve the reliability of the plant and equipment, ensuring production can produce the required products.
Day to day responsibilities:
Ensure all maintenance tasks are executed using the appropriate safety standards and are compliant with policies, regulations, SOP's and as set out by the Engineering Manager.
Repair and maintain production equipment as efficiently as possible and to the required quality standards.
Ensure that all work is done according to the highest standards of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).




For example, CAPA's filled out with all information, equipment cleaned prior to returning to production, approved procedures followed, follow up with completing all relevant documentation.
Attend breakdowns when requested by Engineering, or directed by the Manager.
Perform scheduled and condition based maintenance procedures as allocated by the manager recording details and results.
Demonstrated experience with Stainless Fabrication, Precision Maintenance, Machining, Fixed and Rotating Machine Installation, ideal but not a must.
Complete additional work orders allocated by the Supervisor along with allocated projects, recording details of the outcome and parts used.
Build, maintain and improve the quality of materials data (Stores/Asset Parts Lists)
Participate in the 5S program
Contribute suggestions for improvement
Key selection criteria:
Trade Qualified Fitter (Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade)
Must be able to work day shift permanently
Some experience working within Pharmaceutical, Cosmetic, Food, Beverage, Chemical, Packaging or other FMCG industry is desirable along with relevant training and experience in GMP, Quality, OH&S;, 5S, Lean Manufacturing
Experience with fault finding, root cause analysis,



machine setup and installations is essential
Experience in CMMS, SAP, permits, isolations and change management systems highly desirable
Project installation work highly desirable
Very good mechanical aptitude - able to diagnose root cause within the expected time frames and identify machine deficiencies on the run - a must!
Ability to prioritise and organise work efficiently
Basic computer literacy – SAP, NetSuite, CMMS experience is helpful
Basic numeracy – simple arithmetic calculations
Positive command of English – able to read and interpret Standard Operating Procedures and enter data and comments into CMMS orders
Excellent attention to detail
A good team player – helps others, respects others, communicates well, works for the good of the team
Persistent – able to persevere with challenging tasks and see them through to completion
Flexible to changing priorities
Focussed on quality and safety
Able to work with minimal supervision after a suitable period

Willing to learn new equipment, techniques and processes
