This is a varied and rewarding role that combines hands-on maintenance, contractor management, compliance and team supervision. You will play a key role in ensuring our building and grounds are safe, clean, welcoming and well-presented, supporting the smooth running of our daily operations, community programs and special events.
Full-time (or part-time by negotations), the role also requires after-hours availability from time to time to support events and respond to urgent maintenance issues or emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day operation and presentation of the building and grounds.
Supervise the cleaning team and ensure high cleaning standards are maintained.
Coordinate and manage maintenance contractors, tradespeople and service providers.
Carry out minor repairs and maintenance where appropriate.
Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules.
Ensure compliance with building, safety and workplace regulations.
Maintain records of inspections, servicing and compliance requirements.
Support the set-up and pack-down of community events, including furniture, equipment and room preparation.
Monitor maintenance supplies and assist in managing maintenance budgets.
Identify opportunities to improve facilities and operational efficiency.
Respond promptly to maintenance issues and emergencies.
Source quotations and recommend maintenance and improvement works.
Assist with planning and coordinating minor building improvement projects.
You are:
Organised, reliable and proactive.
Practical and hands-on, with sound maintenance skills.
Able to prioritise competing tasks and solve problems independently.
Experienced in supervising staff,



contractors and service providers.
A positive communicator who enjoys working with staff, contractors and community members.
Comfortable using computers to maintain records and communicate with staff and contractors.
Committed to maintaining a safe, welcoming and qualified environment.
Previous experience in facilities, property or building management.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Current Victorian Driver Licence.
Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
Experience in schools, early learning centres, community organisations or not-for-profit settings.
Knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements.
Experience managing maintenance budgets.
Trade qualification or practical maintenance background.
