About the role
Are you a hands-on manufacturing professional with an interest in advanced manufacturing and metal 3D printing?
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Additive Manufacturing Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will support the day-to-day operation of our additive manufacturing department, working across machine preparation, build setup, post-processing, inspection, and general production support.
This is a practical, workshop-based role suited to someone who enjoys precision work, problem-solving, and being involved in the full manufacturing process from digital file through to finished part.
You will work closely with our Production manager, engineers, technicians, and sales team to ensure customer jobs are produced accurately, safely, and on time.
Key responsibilities
Prepare additive manufacturing machines for production builds
Assist with build setup, material handling, and machine operation
Carry out part removal, cleaning, post-processing, and finishing tasks
Support powder handling, sieving, recycling, and general material control where required
Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD files, and job instructions
Perform basic inspection and dimensional checks on manufactured parts
Maintain accurate job records, production notes, and quality documentation
Carry out routine machine cleaning, maintenance, and workshop housekeeping
Work closely with engineers, sales, and production staff to support customer requirements




Identify production issues and assist with practical problem-solving
Follow all workplace health, safety, and quality procedures
Support continuous improvement across additive manufacturing processes
About you
Working closely with our Production manager, engineers, and technicians, you will be a key part of a down-to-earth team that values accountability, clear communication, safety, and continuous improvement.
You will have a practical manufacturing mindset, solid attention to detail, and the ability to follow procedures while still thinking critically when problems arise. This role would suit someone with experience in additive manufacturing, 3D Printing or other technical workshop environments.
Skills & experience
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on technical ability
Ability to read and understand technical drawings
High attention to detail and accuracy
Good computer skills and ability to follow digital work instructions
Strong time management, organisation, and prioritisation skills
Ability to work safely with machinery, tools, and production equipment
Practical problem-solving mindset
Willingness to learn new technologies and processes
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Good communication skills and a positive attitude
Experience with additive manufacturing, 3D printing, or Laser powder bed fusion
CAD/CAM experience
Experience with post-processing, polishing, linishing, blasting, or finishing parts
Experience with inspection tools such as verniers, micrometers, gauges, or Gom Scanning software
Experience working under ISO ****, AS****, or similar quality systems
Knowledge of titanium, aluminium, stainless steel, Inconel, or other engineering materials
Experience with production documentation, job tracking, or ERP systems
