We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of Ventura's enterprise data platform and analytics capability.
This 18-month fixed-term opportunity will see you develop a scalable data architecture that integrates information across operational and corporate systems, enabling trusted reporting, analytics and data-driven decision-making. You'll play a key role in advancing Ventura's data maturity, establishing governance standards and supporting innovative technologies, including AI and modern cloud-based data platforms.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Data Architect to join Ventura on an 18-month fixed-term contract, leading the design and development of our enterprise data architecture and analytics capability.
This is a strategic and hands-on role responsible for assessing the current data landscape and designing a modern, scalable enterprise data platform that integrates data across operational and corporate systems. The role will play a key part in improving data maturity, enabling trusted reporting, analytics and data-driven decision making across the organisation.
You will also support data security, governance and compliance initiatives aligned with ISO *****:****, ASD Essential Eight and NIST Cybersecurity Framework principles.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and own Ventura's enterprise data strategy and architecture roadmap
Design and guide implementation of a centralised data platform (data warehouse / data lake)
Establish data modelling, integration and architecture standards
Design data ingestion, transformation and storage architectures
Implement data governance frameworks including data ownership, quality and lifecycle management
Enable modern reporting and analytics, including Power BI
Identify opportunities to leverage AI and advanced analytics to improve operational performance and decision making
Support integration with modern analytics platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, or Snowflake
Reduce reliance on manual and spreadsheet-based reporting
Ensure data architecture aligns with security and compliance frameworks
Provide guidance on data integration for new systems
Mentor and support data and technology team members
About You
You are a strategic thinker who enjoys working at both enterprise architecture and hands-on delivery levels. You can translate complex technical concepts into practical business outcomes and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the organisation.
You will bring:
Hands-on experience delivering enterprise data platforms or warehouses
Strong data modelling and SQL skills
Experience integrating multiple operational and enterprise systems
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS)
Experience with BI tools such as Power BI
Understanding of secure data architecture and governance practices
Experience in transport, logistics, fleet or operational environments
Exposure to telematics, vehicle tracking or scheduling systems
