About You
We are seeking an experienced, motivated and enthusiasticMedical Receptionist / Medical Administratorto join our team on either apart-time or casual basis.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates confidently and professionally, and genuinely enjoys providing an exceptional patient experience.
You will be organised, reliable and proactive, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to take initiative.
Your personal presentation, work ethic and communication skills will be of a high standard.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone with a positive attitude who enjoys being part of a team and is interested in developing their skills and progressing within a specialist medical environment.
The Role
The position is primarily based at our Maroochydore clinic, with the possibility of occasional shifts at our Gympie clinic as required.
Your responsibilities will include:
Greeting and assisting patients attending the practice
Managing telephone and patient enquiries
Scheduling and coordinating patient appointments
Processing accounts, invoicing and issuing receipts
Medicare, private health fund and third-party billing
Providing administrative support to our ophthalmologists and clinical team
Assisting department heads with administrative and operational requirements
Maintaining practice documentation, policies and procedures
Supporting the day-to-day operation of a busy specialist medical practice
Surgical Administration
An important part of this position will be developing skills in our surgical administration and booking processes.
You will receive training to assist with:
Surgical counselling and patient education
Coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures
Preparing surgical quotations and financial information
Liaising with patients, surgeons, hospitals and health funds
Managing the administrative requirements associated with a patient's surgical journey
Supporting the operational aspects of our surgical booking process
Previous surgical booking experience is highly regarded but isnot essential for the right candidate, as training will be provided.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will ideally have:
A minimum of3 years' experience in medical reception or medical administration
A solid work ethic, excellent attitude and team-oriented approach
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A warm, professional and enthusiastic manner when interacting with patients
Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
The ability to prioritise and perform effectively in a busy environment
Initiative and the ability to learn new skills and systems quickly
The ability to follow established processes while also working independently
Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
A sound understanding of Medicare, private health funds and third-party billing
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and confidence learning medical software
Experience withsurgical quoting, bookings and billingwill be highly regarded but is not essential.
