Hoskins Maroondah is a boutique real estate agency in Melbourne's Eastern Suburbs, recognised for delivering premium service across all aspects of the real estate industry.
We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee the agency's financial management, reporting, compliance and cash flow while providing commercial insights to support business growth. Reporting to the Director and working closely with the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end finance function, ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, taxation legislation, Fair Work requirements and Victorian real estate legislation.
We're looking for someone who is highly organised, analytical and proactive, with exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the integrity to manage confidential financial information. You'll be professional, approachable, able to prioritise competing deadlines, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with the leadership team.
This is a part-time role, approximately three days per week. Days and hours are flexible and will be discussed with shortlisted applicants.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the agency's day-to-day financial operations
Prepare monthly management reports, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow statements
Monitor financial performance, budgets and cash flow




Identify financial risks and recommend strategies to improve profitability and efficiency
Budgeting & Forecasting
Prepare annual budgets and rolling cash flow forecasts
Monitor expenditure and analyse financial performance
Provide financial modelling to support business decisions
Finance Operations & Payroll
Manage accounts payable and receivable
Oversee commission receivables
Oversee payroll, including monthly commission processing, reconciliations and annual reporting
Generate monthly commission statements for agents
Ensure compliance with Awards, Superannuation and Fair Work requirements
Taxation & Compliance
Prepare or coordinate BAS, IAS, Payroll Tax, Superannuation, PAYG and Fringe Advantages Tax (where applicable)
Liaise with external accountants and auditors
Assist with year-end reporting and ensure ongoing statutory and taxation compliance
Skills & Experience
Qualifications in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Commerce or Finance
Previous experience in a finance role within the real estate industry is essential
Strong financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting skills
Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software such as Xero
Sound knowledge of Australian taxation, payroll and compliance requirements
Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills
High level of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality
