Position Purpose
This role plays a vital role in ensuring that Glady and Co's properties—including participant housing, office spaces, and community hubs—are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene. This role involves travelling between sites, working independently, and taking initiative to address cleaning issues as they arise.
Key Responsibilities
Vacuuming, mopping, and sweeping floors
Dusting and wiping all surfaces, including desks, benches, skirting boards, and high-touch areas
Cleaning kitchens and meal preparation areas (benchtops, sinks, appliances, cupboards, fridges)
Cleaning and sanitising bathrooms and toilets, including restocking soap, paper towels and toilet paper
Emptying bins and removing waste and recycling
Cleaning glass and internal windows, spot-cleaning walls and doors
Cleaning outdoor entryways, patios, and verandas as needed
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards to ensure all Glady and Co environments are safe, presentable, and welcoming for participants, staff and visitors
Identify and respond to unexpected cleaning issues, such as spills, odours, or urgent messes, in a timely manner
Monitor and report maintenance issues (e.g. leaking taps, broken fittings, pest sightings)
Follow infection prevention and control procedures, particularly in shared housing or office spaces
Safely use, clean and store all cleaning equipment and products, including vacuums, mops, buckets, and appropriate chemicals
Maintain cleaning checklists and complete site logs or task reports as required
Replenish and manage cleaning supplies and consumables—report low stock or request reorders
Liaise respectfully with staff and participants when entering and working within homes, shared spaces, or offices
Lock and secure buildings as needed when cleaning after hours or alone on-site
Demonstrated experience in commercial or domestic cleaning
Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean environments
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
Problem-solving ability to identify and address cleaning challenges
Current Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle
Flexibility to travel between sites during rostered hours
Ability to work respectfully in environments supporting people with disability and mental health conditions
Current (or willingness to obtain):
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Working with Children Check
Experience in disability, community housing, or health care environments
Knowledge of safe manual handling and chemical use
