Job Description
Ashley Furniture is seeking an experienced Retail and Service Manager to lead their showroom in Griffith, NSW. JOB DESCRIPTION: Reports to: Director and Business Owner Supervises: Store Managers, Assistant Managers, Sales Staff, Customer Service Staff, Administrative Staff, Warehouse Personnel and other operational employees as required. Position Summary: The Retail and Service Manager is responsible for planning, organising, directing, controlling and coordinating the operations of retail and service establishments to ensure the achievement of business objectives, profitability targets and customer service standards.
The role oversees staff management, financial performance, inventory control, sales growth, customer engagement, operational compliance and continuous business improvement.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Business Operations Management
Plan, organise, direct and coordinate the day-to-day operations of retail and service establishments.
Develop and implement operational strategies, policies and procedures to achieve organisational objectives.
Monitor business performance and implement initiatives to improve efficiency, productivity and profitability.
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations and workplace health and safety requirements.
Coordinate business activities to ensure effective service delivery and operational continuity.
Sales and Customer Service Management
Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
Monitor sales performance and key performance indicators and take corrective action where required.
Establish and maintain high standards of customer service and customer satisfaction.
Manage customer enquiries, complaints and escalated issues in a professional and timely manner.




Develop customer engagement and retention initiatives to strengthen customer relationships and business growth.
Staff Leadership and Human Resource Management
Recruit, train, supervise and develop employees to meet operational and customer service requirements.
Allocate work responsibilities and manage staff rosters and resource requirements.
Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching, mentoring and professional development opportunities.
Foster a positive workplace culture focused on teamwork, accountability and customer service excellence.
Ensure compliance with employment legislation, workplace policies and performance management procedures.
Financial Management
Prepare and manage operational budgets and expenditure forecasts.
Monitor revenue, expenses and profitability to achieve financial objectives.
Analyse financial reports and operational data to support informed business decisions.
Authorise expenditure and ensure effective cost control measures are implemented.
Prepare management reports relating to sales, staffing, inventory and business performance.
Inventory and Supply Chain Management
Oversee inventory planning, purchasing, stock control and stock replenishment activities.
Monitor stock levels and coordinate procurement activities to maintain product availability.
Manage supplier relationships and negotiate purchasing arrangements where required.
Ensure accurate inventory records and stock management processes are maintained.




Coordinate receiving, storage and distribution activities to support efficient business operations.
Marketing and Business Development
Coordinate promotional campaigns, merchandising activities and marketing initiatives.
Identify opportunities to increase sales, improve customer engagement and expand business performance.
Analyse market trends, customer preferences and competitor activities to support strategic planning.
Participate in business development activities to strengthen market presence and customer growth.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, industry regulations and workplace standards.
Implement workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
Monitor service standards and operational quality to ensure customer expectations are consistently met.
Conduct regular reviews of operational processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain accurate business records, reports and operational documentation.

Qualifications
Certificate, Diploma, or higher qualification in Retail, Business, Management, or a related field (preferred).
