We are seeking enthusiastic
Landscape Labour or Apprentices
to join our growing team at Petersen Landscapes in Wollongong, NSW. This is a full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity to build a rewarding career in the landscaping and gardening industry. Whether you are looking to start as a general labourer or begin your formal apprenticeship journey, this role will provide you with hands‐on experience, mentorship, and the chance to develop valuable skills in a dynamic outdoor setting. You will work on‐site at various landscaping projects across the Wollongong region, contributing to the creation of high‐quality outdoor spaces.
Key responsibilities
Assist with site preparation, including clearing, levelling, and measuring areas for landscaping projects
Help with the installation of landscape features such as gardens, pathways, paving, and irrigation systems
Perform general labour duties including digging, planting, mulching, and soil preparation
Operate and maintain hand tools and equipment in a safe and effective manner
Support experienced landscapers and team members in executing project designs and specifications
Maintain cleanliness and safety on work sites by removing debris and following health and safety protocols
Assist with landscape maintenance tasks such as pruning, weeding, and lawn care




Contribute to team efforts to meet project deadlines and maintain high‐quality standards
Undertake formal training and complete apprenticeship modules (if applicable to your pathway)
What we're looking for
A genuine interest in landscaping, gardening, or the trades industry
Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in outdoor conditions
Willingness to learn and develop new skills under supervision
Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
Basic communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
A commitment to health and safety standards on site
Full, valid Australian driving licence (highly desirable)
HSE induction or willingness to complete induction training
For apprenticeship positions: academic qualifications or the ability to pursue part‐time study relevant to landscape horticulture or a related trade
No prior experience necessary – we welcome applications from school leavers and career changers
