About the team
The role sits within the Community Strengthening Team, which seeks to increase the capacity of the community groups and local organisations to provide services and programs that respond to community needs. This is achieved through grants programs, recognition and awards programs, capacity building, partnership work and training activities that build skills and expertise within organisations.
About the role
The role is responsible for administering Glen Eira City Councils Community Grants and Awards Program, with particular focuses on providing advice and support to community organisations and applicants, assessing the impact and outcomes for the community, reviewing guidelines and documentation, managing the grants portal, and end to end administering of community grants programs.
In this role you will also coordinate community recognition programs and events, including Volunteer Recognition, Citizen of the Year and Community Awards, celebrating the people and organisations that make a positive contribution to the Glen Eira community.
Other responsibilities include
Manage and maintain the community grants portal and associated systems.
Undertake eligibility, compliance and reporting reviews, and support the evaluation of program outcomes.
Coordinate assessment panel and decision‐making processes, including meeting administration, agendas, minutes and reporting.
Develop and maintain grant‐related policies, procedures, templates, forms and correspondence.
Prepare communication materials, including website content, newsletters, reports, presentations and promotional resources.
Support the administration and monitoring of funding agreements and funded projects.
Build and maintain positive relationships with community organisations, partners, funding recipients and other stakeholders.
Contribute to Council projects, events and initiatives that strengthen community participation and capacity.
About you
You will be passionate about supporting community‐led initiatives and strengthening local communities.
You have strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to build positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
The following is also required:
Relevant diploma or degree in Community or Economic Development or similar or lesser qualifications combined with other relevant experience.
Demonstrated experience working in the field of community or economic Development, community grants or community services.
Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
Ability to prepare reports, correspondence and other publications with high levels of accuracy.
Highly developed interpersonal skills.
Ability to work individually and as a team member.
