Working as part of a team-oriented Finance team, you will be responsible for a broad range of financial accounting activities, supporting the month end close, financial reporting, reconciliations and statutory requirements.
This is a hands on role suited to an experienced Financial Accountant or 1st movers who enjoys working across a broad accounting function and contributing to process improvement.

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Financial Accountant to join a growing and highly regarded infrastructure business based in Sydney.
Working as part of a collaborative Finance team, you will be responsible for a broad range of financial accounting activities, supporting the month end close, financial reporting, reconciliations and statutory requirements.
This is a hands on role suited to an experienced Financial Accountant or 1st movers who enjoys working across a broad accounting function and contributing to process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and support the monthly month end close
Prepare monthly financial reports and financial analysis
Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances




Maintain the general ledger and ensure accounting transactions are accurately recorded
Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments and other month end adjustments
Assist with statutory reporting and financial statements
Support tax compliance and reporting requirements
Assist with external audit and year end activities
Manage fixed asset accounting and reconciliations
Assist with intercompany accounting and reconciliations
Maintain accurate accounting schedules and supporting documentation
Support financial controls and accounting policies
Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, systems and reporting
Provide financial information and analysis to internal stakeholders
A proactive approach to process improvement
Experience within infrastructure, telecommunications, utilities, property or another asset intensive environment would be highly regarded.
About You
Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance
CA or CPA qualification, or be working towards completion
3+ years' experience in financial accounting OR 1st mover from public practice
Strong month end and balance sheet reconciliation experience
Experience with statutory reporting and audit
Strong Excel and accounting systems skills
Excellent attention to detail and analytical capability
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
