Task & responsibilities
Plan, develop and implement engaging educational programs that promote children's literacy, numeracy, language, creativity, music, art and early learning skills. Design stimulating indoor and outdoor learning experiences using a variety of educational resources and play-based teaching approaches.
Deliver activities that encourage children's cognitive, physical, emotional, social and creative development while building confidence and independence.
Foster language and communication skills through storytelling, songs, rhymes, role play, discussions and interactive group experiences. Observe, assess and document children's learning, behaviour and developmental progress, identifying any concerns that may require further support.
Monitor children's health, nutrition, wellbeing and safety while maintaining a secure and supportive learning environment. Communicate regularly with families regarding children's progress, achievements and individual learning goals. Participate in parent-teacher meetings, staff meetings, professional development sessions and centre planning activities.
Contribute to family engagement initiatives and community participation programs that strengthen relationships with children and families. Mentor and support student teachers and educators undertaking professional placements where required. Plan and deliver activities that promote the development of speech, reading, writing, motor coordination, problem-solving and positive social interaction.
Maintain compliance with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Standard (NQS), child safety requirements and all relevant education regulations. Ensure all teaching practices meet workplace health and safety standards and contribute to a positive,
inclusive and respectful learning environment.
Qualification & experience
1–3 years of relevant experience as an Early Childhood Teacher is essential. A completed relevant qualification in
Early Childhood Education that meets Australian regulatory requirements is required. Current teacher registration or licensing is required where applicable. Sound knowledge of the
Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standard (NQS). Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. Ability to develop engaging educational programs that support children's learning and wellbeing.
Strong observation, planning and assessment skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team. Commitment to child safety, inclusion and continuous professional development.
