Astern Group Pty Ltd ASTERN GROUP PTY LTD is seeking to employa full-time Construction Project Manager. You will need to work 38 hours per week. You willresponsible for aiding the project staff during the construction stages of infrastructure projects
Task & responsibilities
Interpreting construction drawings, specifications and contract documentation.
Planning, coordinating and managing construction projects from commencement through to completion.
Developing, implementing and monitoring project construction programs.
Procuring project materials, subcontractors, plant and equipment.
Managing project budgets and ensuring projects are completed within approved financial targets.
Monitoring project progress and ensuring milestones are achieved on schedule.
Ensuring all pre-construction requirements are completed prior to project commencement.
Managing labour resources and subcontractors to meet project objectives.
Ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with the latest approved drawings, specifications and schedules.
Coordinating the timely delivery of plant, equipment and hired materials in consultation with the Plant Manager.
Maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date project records and contract documentation.
Preparing project reports, progress claims, contract notifications and variation claims in accordance with contractual requirements.
Managing project timelines through accurate and regularly updated construction and contract programs.
Preparing and submitting updated project documentation to relevant authorities upon project completion to achieve Practical Completion (PC).
Ensuring strict compliance with company policies, and project management procedures.
Monitoring project costs and implementing corrective actions where budget variations occur.
Ensuring all variation works receive written client approval before commencement.
Liaising with engineers, consultants, clients, subcontractors,



suppliers and other technical professionals.
Ensuring project personnel and contractors are appropriately qualified, experienced and perform efficiently within their assigned responsibilities.
Reviewing and approving employee timesheets and ensuring required project documentation is submitted to Payroll, Accounts Payable and Office Administration.
Promoting effective communication through Toolbox Talks, SWMS, site meetings and other project communication processes.
Ensuring compliance with all Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), Quality Assurance and Environmental Management requirements.
Promoting a positive company culture focused on safety, quality, customer satisfaction, continuous improvement and professional excellence.
Qualifications & experience
A bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
A minimum ofone year of demonstrated experienceas a Construction Project Manager or in a closely related role. Experience using Doka Formwork systems .
