About The Opportunity
The role of Health, Safety & Wellbeing Officer supports HammondCare services to focus on the health, safety and wellbeing of their team members. The role works closely with the rest of the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Team to ensure that our services comply with WHS legislation and supports the ongoing maintenance of our health, safety and wellbeing framework. The role will also champion wellbeing to team members across HammondCare through meaningful engagement and consultation.
This is a permanent position based at St Leonards with hybrid working opportunities.




What You Will Be Doing
Coordinate administrative and reporting processes for Health, Safety & Wellbeing Committees
Assist Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor in investigations, reviews and audits, as scheduled or triggered by incident or request from a HammondCare service
Escalate concerns or high/critical incidents to Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor
Assist in maintaining incident and quality activity register items, including monitoring and inputting into hazards, safety incidents and emerging issues
Monitor HSW inbox and delegate queries to team members within the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Team.
Assist team members to facilitate communication, consultation and cooperation in all matters relating to health, safety and wellbeing in the workplace
Support the development and review of policies, procedures, guides, communications and educational materials related to workplace health, safety and wellbeing
In collaboration with other members of the People Team ensure services maintain a focus on team member wellbeing in service delivery
Support Head of Health, Safety & Wellbeing with project delivery
Keep abreast of WHS legislation and best practice tools
Any other duties as required by HammondCare from time to time.

About You
Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare's Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action
At least 12 months demonstrated experience in an administration role
Effective communication skills – written and oral
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Demonstrated ability picking up recent tasks quickly
Strong technology skills
Passion for employee wellbeing and safety
Willingness to grow and develop
Empathy and patience
