What you'll do
Oversee the entire cargo handling process, from loading and unloading to storage and transportation, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders to facilitate the timely and efficient movement of cargo.
Develop and implement operational procedures and best practices to enhance efficiency and safety in cargo operations.
Monitor and report on cargo operations performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Conduct regular inspections of cargo handling equipment and facilities to ensure they are in good working order and meet safety standards.
Provide training and guidance to staff on best practices for cargo handling, safety protocols, and emergency response procedures.




Collaborate with the logistics team to optimize cargo routing and scheduling, ensuring timely deliveries to clients.
Maintain accurate records of cargo operations, including inventory management, shipping documents, and compliance reports.
Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding cargo-related inquiries and issues, providing excellent customer service and support.
Participate in safety meetings and contribute to the development of a safety-first culture within the organization.
Liaise with customs authorities to ensure compliance with import/export regulations and facilitate smooth customs clearance processes.
Stay updated on industry trends and regulations to ensure that the company remains compliant and competitive in the market.
Requirements
A minimum of 5 years of experience in cargo operations or a related field, preferably in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of cargo handling procedures, safety regulations, and industry standards.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.




Proficient in using cargo management software and other relevant tools.
A valid driver's license and the ability to travel as needed for site inspections and client meetings.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
Familiarity with customs regulations and procedures is a plus.
A degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
Nice to have
Experience working in a quick-paced logistics environment.
Knowledge of hazardous materials handling and safety protocols.
Certification in cargo handling or logistics management.
Proficiency in a second language, especially Spanish or Mandarin, is advantageous.
Previous experience in a customer-facing role within the logistics industry.
