Samsung C&T; has long been active in the green energy business and continues to explore additional creative renewable energy solutions.About the RoleAs Commissioning Manager, you will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of commissioning activities across multiple projects nationwide.
This includes grid connection infrastructure, substations, and balance-of-plant (BoP) systems, ensuring safe, compliant and timely energisation of the facility.Key Responsibilities1.Commissioning Planning and StrategyDevelop and manage the overall HV commissioning strategy and execution planDefine commissioning scope for substations, Transformers, switchgears and cablesCoordinate with OEMs, EPC contractors, and grid operators on commissioning requirementsEstablish detailed procedures, ITPs, ITCs and commissioning schedules2.Technical OversightLead HV Testing and Commissioning activities including:- Primary injection testing- Secondary injection and protection relay testing (including IEC *****)- cable testing (VLF, IR, Sheath)Ensure compliance with grid codes and utility standards (AEMO, DNSP/TNSP_Review and approve test results,
commissioning reports and redline drawingsAid Troubleshooting of all plant equipment3.Safety ManagementEnforce strict adherence to HV safety procedures and permit systemsLead energisation risk assessments, and isolation plansEnsure compliance with relevant standards such as AS****, *****.Stakeholder CoordinationInterface with- OEMs (Battery, PCS, Transformers, switchgear)5- Network Service Providers (TNSP,DNSP)- AEMO (for grid compliance and registrationLead commissioning meetings, progress reporting, and issue resolution5.Grid compliance and TestingManage and support:-R2 Testing and grid compliance activities- Generator Performance Standards Validation- Hold Point witness testing with NSP/AEMOEnsure all Commissioning documentation meets regulatory and grid connection requirements6.Documentation and HandoverCompile and review:- Test certificates and reportsLead handover to O&M; including training and operational readinessSchedule and Risk ManagementTrack commissioning progress against project scheduleIdentify risks, delays and technical issues; Implement mitigation plansSupport project milestone such as:- First Energisation- Backfeed- First charge/discharge of BESS- Practical Completion (PC)About You8–10+ years' experience in commissioning and testing of electrical systemsAn Australian recognised Tertiary qualification in electrical engineering or similar.Poficient in Protection & control systemsRenewable energy projects (Solar and/or BESS highly regarded)Experience with HV, MV & LV systemsKnowledge of Australian standards, regulatory requirements, and testing proceduresProven leadership experience managing teams and delivering to project budgets3-5 years' experience with either an EPC Contractor, NER or NSPs.Proven leadership and presentation skillWork well under pressureCollaboration skill in multi-disciplinary organisationAbility to travel and work away from home as requiredSamsung C&T; Corporation is committed to building diverse and inclusive teams.
