About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, practical and motivated Land Restoration Lead to drive the delivery of natural resource management and nature-based carbon projects at Cooplacurripa Station, with a robust focus on native reforestation.
Reporting to the Cooplacurripa Station Operations Manager, you will coordinate on-ground restoration activities, vegetation management and monitoring programs, GIS and data analysis, stakeholder engagement and contractor management.
You will work closely with internal teams, landholders and contractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and in compliance with regulatory and project requirements.
This is a hands-on role that combines field-based project coordination with technical expertise in ecological restoration, monitoring and reporting, making a direct contribution to long-term environmental and carbon outcomes.
To work across our teams and project sites, this role requires regular travel.
Depending on your home location, this will include regular travel to project sites (alternate weeks) or a 10-day drive-in/drive-out swing arrangement living on project sites.
While the role is remote/WFH based, we are looking specifically for individuals who are currently based in Northern NSW specifically, in the Newcastle, New England Tablelands or North Coast regions.
About You
Your technical expertise is supported with practical delivery, and you are comfortable leading in dynamic, field-based environments.
Ideally you will bring:
Demonstrated experience (> 5 years) in bush regeneration, revegetation, forestry/silviculture and/or large-scale land management, including 2+ years in a supervisory or crew-lead role.
Relevant tertiary qualification (Certificate III or higher; diploma/degree preferred) in Conservation, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science or related discipline.
Strong technical capability in vegetation and ecosystem health, including soil condition assessment, weed and pest management, and native species establishment, with demonstrated application in the field.
Proficiency in GIS and spatial analysis, GPS navigation and field data collection tools, with experience translating field data into clear project reports and deliverables.
Sound knowledge of NSW land management and native vegetation regulations, chemical herbicide handling certification, and ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including Indigenous communities.
Experience working with Indigenous stakeholders and communities, including Local Aboriginal Land Councils, and an understanding of issues relating to the protection of Aboriginal Cultural Heritage will be highly regarded.
