The Role
This recruitment activity will be used to create a merit pool for ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies for the Senior Regulatory Services Officer and Senior Technical Regulatory Services Officer positions.
These positions may be offered at either the CS3B or CS3A level, depending on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate and their ability to demonstrate this through the recruitment process.
The Regulatory Services positions report to National Team Leader Regulatory Services and is part of the team responsible for entry control and activities associated with regulatory services, regulatory reporting, and administrative support to the CASA Regulatory Services teams.
The Regulatory Services positions work collaboratively with various stakeholders to effectively coordinate and deliver regulatory services tasks.
This includes the processing of complex applications, interpreting legislation and managing the escalation of urgent enquiries.
The Regulatory Services positions provide support to their peers and administrative support to the Regulatory Services Inspectorate Teams and other areas of the Division as required.
The Senior Regulatory Services Officer (CS3B) role requires a high level of stakeholder liaison skills, including the management of complex enquiries and workflow coordination.
The Senior Technical Regulatory Services Officer (CS3A) is a diverse role, requiring a high level of customer service and stakeholder liaison skills, including the management of complex enquiries and workflow coordination.
The Senior Regulatory Services Officer (CS3B) is responsible for the following deliverables:
Supports peers and knowledge sharing to ensure compliance with business processes and efficient service delivery.
Provide the delivery of timely and accurate processing of regulatory services tasks and reporting activities
Coordinate consistent advice to industry through escalated queries in accordance with legislation and procedures.
Be responsible for coordination of workflow, to support the delivery of regulatory services, including the prioritisation of urgent requests and escalations.
Work collaboratively with the team to ensure consistency and high-quality outcomes by peer reviewing tasks and completing quality checks.
Provide and coordinate high quality, expert technical and regulatory support and advice to the National Team Leader Regulatory Services
Fosters an environment of continuous improvement and proactively engages stakeholders with effective and considered communication working collaboratively to deliver regulatory services.
Works supportively and cooperatively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to achieve shared outcomes.
Engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees in a sensitive, respectful, and equitable manner.
Promote workplace safety, equity and diversity, participative management and environmental management in the workplace and act in accordance with CASA's Values and Behaviors
The Senior Technical Regulatory Services Officer (CS3A) is responsible for the above as well as the following deliverables:
Developing, maintaining, and reviewing regulatory services processes,
procedures and other supporting documentation for the Entry Control and Coordination (ECC) section.
Drafting and developing correspondence, reports and briefs as required
Assisting with the coordination of entry control applications and other functions and provide high quality technical advice.
Supervise, guide and motivate staff that are performing similar roles within the Entry Control and Coordination section.
Undertaking more complex procedural, administrative and service-related tasks in line with CASA technical, legislative and policy requirements that support CASA business activities
Developing, supporting and managing effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders inclusive of other Government agencies to achieve work area goals.
Be responsible for coordination of workflow, to support the delivery of regulatory services, including the prioritisation of urgent requests and escalations.
Supporting and promoting teamwork through cooperation, communication and sharing of relevant information and provision of responsive and accurate advice
Peer reviewing tasks and completing quality checks.
Supporting the implementation of change and contributing to continuous improvement activities within the Section/Branch and across the organisation as appropriate.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Stakeholder management skills particularly in building and maintaining networking relationships, including the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders, working collaboratively and manage key relationships to successfully achieve outcomes.
Problem Solving and Process Improvement: High-level problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and implement procedures, improve processes, provide flexible solutions and achieve results.
Demonstrated experience managing a range of administrative support and coordination of complex regulatory service activities, including the ability to handle competing priorities within a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Regulatory and Compliance Experience: Knowledge of or ability to acquire an understanding of regulatory services and/or surveillance frameworks, practices and systems, including Australia's civil aviation legislation
Integrity: Lead by example with integrity, being honest, transparent, and accountable.
Address and call out behaviors that do not align with CASA values.
Our ideal candidate for the CS3A must demonstrate the following:
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Stakeholder management skills particularly in building and maintaining networking relationships, including the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders, working collaboratively and managing key relationships to successfully achieve outcomes.
Problem Solving and Process Improvement:
Demonstrated High-level problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and implement procedures, improve processes, provide flexible solutions and achieve results.
Demonstrated experience managing a range of administrative support and coordination of complex regulatory service activities, including the ability to handle competing priorities within a rapid-paced and dynamic environment.
Demonstrated experience in writing briefings and reports, including the preparation of material suitable for technical and non-technical audiences.
Regulatory and Compliance Experience: Knowledge of or ability to acquire an understanding of regulatory services and/or surveillance frameworks, practices and systems, including Australia's civil aviation legislation
Integrity: Lead by example with integrity, being honest, transparent, and accountable.
Address and call out behaviors that do not align with CASA values.
About Our Division
The purpose of Regulatory Oversight Division (ROD) is to deliver upon our aviation safety obligations for the provision of surveillance and regulatory services to authorisation holders in an efficient and effective manner.
The Division is also responsible for providing regulatory guidance to support the aviation community understand the regulatory framework.
