You will work within multi-disciplinary teams to provide effective and effective evidence-based care, whilst also demonstrating commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.Manage time effectively, organising daily workload through prioritisation, and demonstrate punctualityUse the principles of evidence-based practice, and access relevant current literature in making assessments and formulating management decisionsUse clear communication with patients, with awareness of cultural, religious and gender differenceRecognise the ethical complexity of medical practice, and follow professional and ethical codesProvide clear and comprehensive handover information to senior clinicians, colleagues, nurses and allied health professionals) in particular on very sick patients.Respect the leadership role and the varied other roles and responsibilities within a teamThis position is suitable for PGY3/+ and will provide a broad base in hospital medicine, ideal for those seeking to pursue a career path in General Practice, or enhance your clinical experience and exposure, prior to committing to a specific vocational pathway.As a successful General cohort HMO,



you will have the opportunity to nominate your rotation preferences.
These may include rotations to: General Medicine, General Surgery (Colorectal, UGI, Breast/Endocrine, Rapid Access Hub), Addiction Medicine, Cardiology, Dermatology, Emergency Medicine, Psychiatry, Sub-Acute Care (Hospital in the Home, Rehabilitation), Sub-specialty Surgery – Orthopaedics, ENT and Urology.Please note that with our strong commitment to our Secondment Regional Hospitals, most HMOs will have a roster that includes rotations outside our Fitzroy campus.
These may include rotations at Werribee Mercy, Swan Hill District Hospital and Warrnambool Base Hospital.Duration of appointment: 01 February ********* February **** (extended contracts may be considered)Classifications for this position will range from HM12 – HM20 ($90,****** - $158,******) pro rata for part-time.What you will bring:Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn and develop your skillsMBBS or equivalentProvisional/General AHPRA RegistrationCurrent National criminal history check and Working With Children Check or willing to obtainFull working rights within AustraliaWorking at St Vincent'sSt Vincent's Hospital Melbourne (SVHM) is a leading teaching, research and tertiary health service.
