Infrastructure Supply Chain Coordinator at OptiverAbout the roleOptiver is on the lookout for an Infrastructure Supply Chain Coordinator to join our team in Sydney, Australia.
This pivotal role is designed to enhance the management of IT hardware and associated services across the Asia-Pacific region.
By streamlining the processes involved in purchasing, shipping, receiving, and inventory management, you will enable our engineers to concentrate on optimizing data center operations.Key facts Location: Sydney, Australia.

Team: APAC Infrastructure TeamWhat you'll doTransform infrastructure needs into actionable purchasing tasks, ensuring that all requisitions, approvals, orders, and receipts are meticulously documented and compliant with internal policies.Manage the entire logistics chain, which includes obtaining vendor quotes, coordinating freight forwarding, overseeing customs clearance, and ensuring timely delivery to our data centres and trading locations.Review and validate Bill of Materials (BOMs) for server configurations, ensuring they include essential components such as CPUs, GPUs, memory, storage, network interface cards, optics, cables, rails, power supply units, and licensing agreements.Maintain proactive communication with suppliers and freight forwarders to monitor lead times and delivery schedules, addressing any potential delays that could affect operations.Accelerate the procurement process for long‐lead items,



including high‐core‐count CPUs and specialised storage solutions.Ensure the accuracy of inventory records throughout the hardware lifecycle, providing reliable data to both engineering and finance teams.Work in collaboration with the central Procurement and Accounts Payable teams to manage purchasing and logistics execution, allowing them to focus on vendor strategy development.Optimize workflows to handle the increasing volume of operations in the APAC region, enhancing hand‐offs, minimising manual processes, and maximising system efficiency.RequirementsA background in purchasing, procurement operations, logistics coordination, or supply chain management, ideally within the technology, hardware distribution, or financial services sectors.Familiarity with contemporary procurement or ERP systems, such as Coupa, with a strong focus on financial coding and compliance.A solid understanding of the intricacies involved in supply chain coordination, including the ability to effectively manage multiple vendor and shipment processes.Experience with IT hardware relevant to data centres, specifically servers, compute nodes, networking gear, and storage systems.Proficiency in interpreting and assessing server/network hardware quotations.Knowledge of server configurations, hardware BOMs,



support contracts, and delivery timelines.A comprehensive understanding of CPU‐centric compute infrastructure.Exceptional organizational skills to juggle multiple orders and stakeholders simultaneously.A collaborative mindset, willing to engage with infrastructure engineers to understand context for effective request triage, even without direct engineering experience.Nice to havePrevious experience in a fast‐paced financial services environment.Familiarity with international shipping regulations and customs processes.Knowledge of inventory management best practices and tools.Experience in negotiating with vendors and suppliers to achieve favourable terms.Understanding of the latest trends in IT hardware and data centre technologies.Skills & toolsProficient in using procurement software and ERP systems.Robust analytical skills for evaluating vendor quotes and BOMs.Excellent communication skills for liaising with vendors, engineers, and internal teams.Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks in a dynamic environment.Familiarity with data centre operations and IT infrastructure management.Practical notesThe position is based in Sydney, Australia, and is a full‐time role.
