This allows easy access to training, seminars and conferences in the city, without diminishing the direct impact that comes from working within a close-knit rural community.To learn more visit the RoleAs our Payroll Generalist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services for Council employees while providing exceptional support across a range of People & Culture functions.
Working closely with employees, leaders and external stakeholders, you will manage end-to-end fortnightly payroll processing, interpret awards and enterprise agreements, maintain payroll compliance, and support the ongoing administration and improvement of our HRIS systems.
You'll also contribute to reporting, data integrity, payroll reconciliations, and process improvement initiatives that enhance the employee experience and strengthen operational efficiency.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented payroll professional who enjoys problem-solving, building strong working relationships, and making a meaningful contribution within a supportive and collaborative team environment.About the Successful CandidateThe successful candidate will be an experienced payroll professional with a passion for accuracy, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
You will bring demonstrated experience in payroll processing, a sound understanding of payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation, and award or enterprise agreement interpretation, along with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
Confident working with payroll and HR information systems, you will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling you to investigate and resolve payroll queries with professionalism and efficiency.
Just as importantly, you will be a collaborative team player who enjoys building positive relationships across the organisation, providing trusted advice to employees and leaders, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
