Position overview: Oapl has a new opportunity for a Prosthetic/ Orthotic Technician to join our team in Bentley.
This position would suit either someone with experience or who would like to gain Technician/Workshop experience.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can work autonomously as well as in a team along with receiving instructions from the Prosthetists and Orthotists.
About you:
Willingness to learn new techniques, skills and fabrication methods as needed are essential
Highly practical, good attention to detail
Must have a positive attitude and work ethic;
Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
Key Responsibilities:
Manufacturing, fabricating, repairing,



modifying and maintaining Prosthetic limbs and devices according to specifications and changes;
Appropriate use of a range of materials, processes and techniques in the development of recent technical processes and application of new materials;
Able to troubleshoot technical issues in the workshop;
Adhering to workplace safety requirements;
Selection Criteria:
Previous experience as a Prosthetic/Orthotic Technician would be highly regarded, but not essential;
Demonstrated sound working knowledge of small hand tools and larger workshop machinery;
Practical knowledge of manufacturing techniques including plastic work, fibreglass/carbon lamination, excellent finishing skills including buffing, grinding and sewing (advantageous but not mandatory).
