Position details:
Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School is seeking a committed, dynamic and enthusiastic ELC Educator/Responsible Person who has nurturing nature and can demonstrate high levels of competency to support the centre's ELC Supervisor in the day-to-day operations of the Centre.
The successful applicant will work closely with the ELC Supervisor, Care Centres' Leadership Team and school community to ensure all processes and environments are welcoming, efficient and reflective of the school's Catholic identity.
Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School is a triple stream co-educational school of approximately 800 students from the Early Learning Centre (3-Year-Old) to Year 6.
The school is situated in the centre of Rockingham giving easy access to the surrounding suburbs.
The school operates a 3-Year-Old Early Learning Centre (open 5 days per week from 6am – 6pm) and a 4-Year-Old Kindergarten Program operates (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) with 2 additional days (Thursday and Friday) that are optional.
Out of School Hours Care and Vacation Care are available at the school.
Star of the Sea offers a broad curriculum with specialist teachers across the learning areas of Science, ICT, PE, LOTE (Auslan) and Music.
Star of the Sea has excellent IT infrastructure and resources as well as a variety of playground equipment, basketball courts and a large oval.
Clear boundaries, routines and a consistent whole school approach allows students to flourish in a supportive learning environment.
As a West Australian Catholic school, we are part of the system of schools supported by Catholic Education Western Australia (CEWA).
At the local level we are integral in the life of the local parish of 'Our Lady of Lourdes'.

Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to, the ethos and mission of Catholic Education and the ability to support and promote the school's Catholic identity.
Education
A strong working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standards and National Regulations to promote best practice.
Experience with play-based learning.
Understanding the importance of developing positive relationships to enhance and support the wellbeing of students.
Community
Cultivate positive, respectful relationships across the school community, including students, staff, families, CEWA consultants, the parish and the wider community.
Work collaboratively within a agile leadership team and model high levels of professionalism, integrity, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, child safety and wellbeing in accordance with Catholic Education Western Australia policies.
Stewardship
Demonstrate strong organisational skills and the capacity to manage the administrative and operational demands relevant to the role.
Build the professional capacity of colleagues, through peer-to-peer coaching and professional learning.
Use digital technologies effectively to enhance communication and efficiency.
Qualifications/Clearances Required:
Australian Qualifications Framework (ACECQA) relevant Degree/Diploma in children's services covering the age range of 4-12 years or
Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or working towards) or




Completed 50% of an Early Childhood Teaching Degree
NCCHC Police Clearance or willing to obtain
Working With Children Check or willing to obtain
First Aid (HLTAID012) and CPR (HLTAID009)
Asthma Management and Anaphylaxis Certificate or be willing to obtain
Supervising Officer/Responsible Person Certificate or be willing to obtain
Food Safety Supervisor Certificate or be willing to obtain
