The Position
The Senior Technical Officer (STO) position will support engineering activity by providing technical services, expertise and solutions across technical areas.
This is a senior, hands-on role suited to a tradesperson who takes pride in diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical faults, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring CEA platforms and equipment are assembled, integrated and maintained to the highest standard of reliability.
Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy diesel mechanic work and hands-on electrical fault finding.
Key Responsibilities
In conjunction with a supervising engineer or technical team leader:
Coordinate and perform assembly and final integration of production systems including diesel engines, driveline, Thermal Management Systems, Power Generation Systems, and associated electrical components.
Perform maintenance, repair and fault finding on system trailers and associated heavy vehicle equipment.
Liaise with production to ensure that products are being built to engineering specification.
Provide guidance where necessary on assembly and testing procedures.
Create and maintain technical reports, documents and literature.




Install equipment on client sites and perform other related field work as well as support of installation work.
Diagnose and solve problems across a broad range of issues which could be either mechanical or electrical related and occur from design to installation and in-service support.
Provide ad-hoc technical services for the supervising engineer.
Apply CEA Engineering and Quality procedures to all tasks.

Our Ideal Candidate
Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (or equivalent), with a minimum of 5 years' of technical experience.
Ability to understand complex heavy diesel mechanical and electrical systems, including Thermal Management Systems and Power Generation Systems.
Experience working on military or specialist heavy vehicles and trailers highly regarded.
Demonstrate a high level of initiative.
Ability to work under minimal supervision.
Skills in producing technical documentation and instructions/reports.
Skills in system fault finding, including electrical fault diagnosis on heavy diesel plant, power generation, and thermal management equipment.
High level of general technical skills.

Eligible to obtain and maintain an AGSVA clearance – Negative Vetting 1.
