About Us
Midland Women's Health Care Place Inc operating as ERICA Women's Centre is a not-for-profit providing comfortable, caring and inclusive counselling services for women aged 16+ across the East Metropolitan Area.
We deliver trauma-informed, community-based support and therapeutic group activities as a safe entry point to health promotion, education, skills development, fitness and connection.
We empower women and families for stronger futures, recognising vulnerability can arise due to social and economic disadvantage, disability, sexuality, ethnicity and age.
We also operate Nardine Women's Refuge, providing safe accommodation for women and children up to 17 years old experiencing domestic and family violence.
Work underpinned by strong governance, quality oversight and culturally respectful practice.
The Opportunity
As a volunteer Ordinary Board Member, you will contribute to strategic governance, supporting sustainable services, robust service quality oversight, and effective risk management.
We are seeking Board members who can bring expertise in women's health and wellbeing and/or domestic and family violence, with an understanding of relevant standards and good governance practice (monthly evening meetings).
Key Responsibilities
Attend in person (Perth WA)



and actively participate in board meetings.
Contribute to good governance, risk oversight, and strategic planning
Provide informed input on policies, quality standards, and service delivery
Work collaboratively with fellow board members and the CEO
Uphold the organisation's values, mission, and legal obligations
Skills and Experience
What you'll bring:
Demonstrated expertise in mental health, women's health and wellbeing, or domestic and family violence
Understanding of relevant legislation, standards, and best practice
Strong communication, analytical, and cooperative skills
Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed practice
Previous board or governance experience is welcome but not essential
