About the Job
There is an exciting opportunity with the Projects & Building Team for a Carpentry & Building Maintenance Assistant.
Provide trade support to the Building Maintenance Supervisor.
Required to undertake a range of activities principally repairing, maintaining and monitoring condition of Council building assets and infrastructure.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Undertakes routine inspection of council buildings, reporting any defects and repair needs, to Building Maintenance Supervisor for work/repair orders.
Responds to building damage/defects notified by tenants of leased Council premises, assessing the problem reported and rectifying in productive manner.
May be required to assist in building construction undertaken, by working in trade qualified capacity.
This is a permanent full time position, working 85 hours per week.
About you
In order to succeed and thrive in this position, you must have:
Trade certificate in carpentry or equivalent experience.
3-5 years practical experience in the building trade industry.
Demonstrated ability to show initiative, be adaptable and deal effectively with trade related issues.
Benefits
Salary: $101,****** per annum (including overtime)
Permanent staff are entitled to:
5 weeks annual leave per year




Rostered Day Off (RDO) every second Friday.
Minimum of 12% superannuation employer contribution
