Recent Acland Coal (NAC) is expanding, and we're looking for 2 x Senior Mining Supervisors / Open Cut Examiners (OCEs).
NAC is a thin seam open cut mining operation that is owned and managed by New Hope Group.
NAC is based 35km north-west of Toowoomba.
About The Roles
Working a 7/7 day / night rotating roster and reporting to the Production Superintendent, these roles will lead production supervisors and crews to safely achieve production targets while fulfilling their OCE statutory obligations.
The roles will focus on fostering a high-performance safety culture that priorities risk awareness, proactive risk management and operational excellence.
What You Will Do
Execute statutory OCE functions to ensure the highest safety, environmental and operational work practices are maintainedLead, guide and mentor Supervisors and operational crews promoting proactive risk management and safe, efficient operationsOversee all aspects of people management, including performance, conduct, attendance and employee relations mattersDrive the execution of the daily, weekly, and annual operating plans with a focus on plan compliance and efficiencyOversee incident reporting, investigations, and the implementation of corrective actionsDrive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performanceWork closely with stakeholders outside of the Production team to maximise outputs
To Be Considered For These Opportunities, You Will Have




A minimum of 5 years' experience as an OCE / Mine SupervisorA current Queensland Open Cut Examiner practising certificateCoal Mining Competencies RIIRIS301E, RIIWHS301E, RIICOM301E & RIIRIS402EExtensive leadership experience leading mining teams to safely achieve production targetsExperience supporting incident investigations and continuous improvement initiativesDemonstrated high-level judgement, decision-making and problem-solving skills, as well as a professional level of written and oral communication skillsThe ability to respectfully challenge the status quo and drive performance
