Disability Support Worker (Casual) – Bairnsdale & Latrobe

Your Own Way Australia Ltd is seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to provide support to participants with complex needs across Bairnsdale and Latrobe Valley.

About the Role
You will deliver person-centred, trauma-informed support to participants with complex needs, including:
Trauma and family violence
Drug and alcohol challenges
Behaviours of concern
High physical care requirements
This role requires confidence, experience, and compassion, working alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
Provide daily living support (personal care, meals, household tasks)
Deliver complex care, including:
Bowel care (digital stimulation, stoma care)
Catheter management
Support community access and social engagement
Maintain accurate progress notes and documentation
Follow NDIS, safety, and compliance standards
About You
Certificate III/IV in Disability, Aged Care, or similar (essential)




Proven experience with complex participants & behaviours of concern (essential)
Experience with high physical care needs (essential)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Reliable, adaptable, and able to work independently
Provide personal care this includes assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and daily living support to participants in their homes or care settings, helping them maintain comfort, safety, and independence.
Availability required:
Day, afternoon, weekend shifts
Active & inactive overnight shifts

Requirements
Current driver's licence, reliable vehicle, and comprehensive insurance
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Working With Children Check
Current Police Check
Current First Aid & CPR certificate
Australian working rights
Capable and willing to assist participants with personal care activities as required
Certificate III in Individual Support (or higher)
Desirable
Trauma-informed practice experience
Experience working with indigenous communities
