Employment Type: Temporary Part Time (Up to 30/6/2027)Position Classification: Health Education Officer Grad / Health Education Officer Non GradRemuneration: $***** - $***** per hr (+ superannuation + salary packaging options) Location: Orange or Dubbo, NSW – Find out moreHours Per Week: 19 Applications Close: 9 June *********:59pm Aboriginal Social & Emotional Wellbeing Carer Peer Worker – Safeguards TeamMental Health Drug & Alcohol About the roleThe Safeguards Aboriginal Social & Emotional Wellbeing Carer Peer Worker will be based in Dubbo or Orange and supporting the Safeguards team via a hybrid model of face to face and virtual.
The primary purpose of this role is to provide individual and group support to carers and consumers by working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to promote engagement of carers to support consumers in their individual treatment and recovery.The hours/days of this part-time position can be negotiated between the hours of 10:00am – 6:30pm, Monday – Friday.The successful applicant will work alongside Safeguards Clinicians, Psychiatrist & Psychiatry Registrar to strengthen and support the connection and engagement with carers accessing the Safeguards service.This role will be included with the WNSWLHD MHDA Peer Workforce Supervision and Support Program.
This ensures that peer workers are supported, safe and effective in their roles.
Opportunities to grow within this role are highly supported by the Team Leader with encouragement and consideration of time required to attend additional learnings as identified through performance conversations and developmental plans.
