Alegre Bar & Dining in King Street Wharf is seeking for an experienced & motivated Chef (Full-time) to join our team.
Duties & Responsibilities will include-

- Setting up service station as per restaurant standard
- Prep, cook and seasoning food in day to day operation
- Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation discussing food preparation issues with Head Chef, Managers, Dietitians, kitchen and waiting staff
- Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
- Ordering, receiving food items and storing them at right temperature and place
- Meet special dietary requirements of customer as requested
- Assisting Head Chef with menu planning, Recipe card, Estimation Food & Labour cost
- Effective participation in controlling desired food cost and minimising food wastage
- Train new and other junior staff
- Following Food Safety & OH&S; policies
- Maintaining Temperature Log Book & Cleaning/maintenance schedule
- Must be organised and able to work both independently and as a supportive team member




- Follow all lawful instruction of Employer and seniors

Skills and experience

- Minimum 2-3-year experience as chef
- Commercial Cookery degree would be an advantage
- Excellent Knife and cooking skills
- Experience to run functions
- Must be able to work weekends, split shifts in 7 days rotated roster
- A passion for the hospitality industry
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Must be organised and able to work both independently and as a supportive team member
- Be able to work under pressure in a skilled and polite manner
- Have high attention to detail and take pride in your work at all times
- Must be reliable, punctual and own reliable transport desirable.
- Meticulous meeting high standard of cleanliness, health and hygiene

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $65,000 to $67,000.00 /year
