About the role:
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
- Advising on research, collaboration, funding and commercialisation agreements.
- Providing practical legal advice across a broad range of commercial and research matters.
- Managing commercial and research-related disputes and proceedings.
- Engaging and overseeing external legal providers on complex matters.
- Identifying and managing legal, operational and reputational risk.
- Supporting compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and internal policies.
- Developing legal precedents, templates and resources for internal stakeholders.
- Delivering training and guidance on legal obligations and risk.
The ideal candidate:
- At least 7 years' PQE
- Demonstrated expertise across commercial contracts and advisory matters.
- Experience in intellectual property,
research contracts or commercialisation matters, which would be highly regarded.
- Strong drafting, negotiation and legal risk identification skills.
- The ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement and manage competing priorities.
- Confidence advising senior executives and working with a broad range of internal stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
