About the Chance
- Deliver an effective dispute resolution service within the principles of the relevant legislation, with clear operating processes, policies and practices and KPIs.
- Establish and maintain systems of prioritising, allocating and coordinating the state-wide DRS services.
- Prioritise matters according to risk and sensitivity and appropriately allocate to team members.
About the Business
The Office of the Public Advocate (OPA) is an independent statutory office that promotes and protects the rights and autonomy of adults who may require support with decision‑making. The Office operates within a human‑rights‑based and legislative framework, including the Guardianship and Administration Act 1993, Mental Health Act 2009, Advance Care Directives Act 2013, and the Consent to Medical Treatment and Palliative Care Act 1995, National Standards for Public Guardianship (Australian Guardianship and Administration Council), and United Nations Convention of the Rights of Persons with Disability.

Special Conditions for Employment
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL)
under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.
- Some out of hours work may be required.
- Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.
- Must hold a current Australian issued driver’s licence (equivalent to minimum class C).
