Fabrication Machinist | Defence Contract

Chandler Macleod is seeking an experienced Fabrication Machinist for an exciting 9-month contract opportunity with a leading Defence client based in Henderson, WA.
This role is ideal for a trade-qualified machinist with robust CNC milling and turning experience, ideally gained within Defence, submarines, marine, or heavy industrial settings.
About the Role
You will be responsible for producing high-quality machined components safely, accurately, and efficiently using CNC equipment, tooling, and a range of materials.
Working in a highly regulated Defence environment, you will interpret technical drawings, set up machinery and parts, operate CNC lathes and/or mills, measure and record dimensions, and complete maintenance tasks as required.
About You
Australian citizenship, essential for Defence site requirements
Mechanical Trade Certificatein Machining or Fitting / Machining
Proven experience operatingCNC lathes and/or mills
Experience with bothmilling and turning
Ability to set upCNC machineryand components accurately




Ability to read and interprettechnical drawings
Ability to measure, record, and verifypart dimensions
Experience completingmaintenance tasks
White Card
Confined Space Certification
National Police Clearance
Ability to pass apre-employment medical assessment
Defence, submarine, marine, or heavy industrial experience, highly regarded
Experience withOkuma CNC machines, highly desirable
