Key responsibilities
Provide short term counselling and support for clients who have been assessed to be at moderate to high risk of suicide, who have attempted suicide or display self-harming behaviours.
Develop detailed safety plans in collaboration with clients following appropriate risk assessments.
Perform initial intake assessment/program triage function as required.
Assist with facilitation or co-facilitation of group programs as required.
Be able to respond to active clients who may be in crisis situations.
Key selection criteria
Relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work or Nursing.
Full registration as a Registered/Clinical Psychologist or Nurse with AHPRA or AASW as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker.
Demonstratedexperience working with clients with mental health & psychosocial conditions including those at risk of suicide.
Highly developed knowledge & skills in assessment and counselling.
