Are you passionate about providing quality meals and exceptional service to older Australians? Respect St John's is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Food Services Assistant to join our dedicated team on a permanent part-time basis.

Working under the guidance of the Chef/Cook, you'll play an important role in delivering nutritious, high-quality meals and refreshments while helping maintain a safe, welcoming dining experience for our residents.

This permanent part-time position offers afternoon shifts only, working across a rotating roster from Monday to Sunday. Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as rostered is essential.

About the Role

As a Food Services Assistant, you will contribute to the delivery of food services that support the health, wellbeing, and individual preferences of our residents. You will also assist in maintaining food safety standards and ensuring compliance with the Food Safety Program (FSP), while ensuring residents receive meals and refreshments in a friendly and timely manner.





Key Responsibilities

- Assist with the preparation, presentation, serving, and delivery of meals and refreshments in accordance with the Food Safety Program (FSP).
- Contribute to menu planning to meet residents' nutritional needs and individual preferences.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen and dining environment in line with the FSP.
- Assist with monitoring and recording food safety requirements, including temperature checks and receipting of goods.
- Deliver meals and refreshments to residents in a friendly, respectful, and timely manner.
- Report any concerns relating to residents' food or beverage intake to the Registered Nurse in Charge.
- Support the kitchen team to ensure high standards of food quality, safety, and customer service are maintained.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A Food Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Previous experience in food services, preferably within residential aged care or a healthcare environment.
- A genuine commitment to providing quality service and enhancing the dining experience for older people.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A current National Police Certificate (or the ability to obtain one).

Please note: As part of the recruitment process, all successful candidates must meet the legislative requirements of the Aged Care Worker Screening process to ensure suitability to work within the aged care sector.
