Disability/ Mental health support worker

Our Disability Support Workers are responsible for working with clients to support and promote their skills and abilities and enable empowerment for them to reach their desired goals and ambitions, to live as independently as possible within their chosen community.
This important role is also responsible for ensuring all reporting and administrative requirements are met and services are delivered in line with Adina Community Services Policies and Procedures and the Disability Service Standards and relevant legislative requirements.
Required to work sleepovers, holidays and weekends when rostered, and occasionally at short notice.
Qualifications, Skills & Knowledge
Essential Well developed and effective communication, numerical and interpersonal skills
Essential Effective, positive interpersonal skills and possesses the ability to relate to others well
Essential Ability to prioritise and problem solve situations
Essential Ability to work individually or in a team with minimal supervision
Essential Ability to maintain a protected work setting

Essential Availability to work different hours and with people of all ages
Essential to be able to carry out manual handling when necessary
Essential Current NSW Working with Children Check
Essential Current NSW Driver's License and Registered vehicle for work purposes
Essential Demonstrated sound computer skills – MS Word and MS Outlook
Desirable Certificate IV in Disabilities or equivalent or willingness to obtain certificate
Desirable Demonstrated experience in providing effective services to people with a disability
Desirable Demonstrated knowledge in Disability Legislation and Standards
